Committee’s Responsibilities
The YEA Committee is responsible for young engineers in ASHRAE. Its key responsibilities
include:
- Attracting Young Engineers – Encourage new young engineers to join ASHRAE and become actively involved at the chapter and/or Society level.
- Promoting Membership – Encourage ASHRAE membership across different segments of the HVAC&R industry
- Organizing YEA Activities – Develop and coordinate programmes and activities that attract and retain young engineers within ASHRAE.
- Connecting Students to YEA – Work closely with the Student Activities Committee to encourage students to transition from student membership into YEA membership after graduation.
Committee’s Objectives
- To attract young engineers to ASHRAE.
- To engage and retain young professionals.
- To develop technical, professional and leadership skills.
- To provide a smooth transition for students into active professional membership.
- To build the next generation of ASHRAE and HVAC&R leaders.
Committee’s Plans Projects
- YEA Project Management Training: Practical training focused on project management, leadership, and project execution.
- YEA Project Management Competition: A practical competition designed to allow young engineers to apply project management and leadership skills.
- Technical Tours: Visits to engineering facilities to give young engineers firsthand exposure to real-world engineering practices, systems, and industry best practices.
- YEA Leadership Series: A series featuring industry leaders and emerging professionals sharing career, leadership, and industry insights.
- YEA Leadership Summit: The grand finale of the Leadership Series, bringing together industry leaders and young professionals for knowledge sharing, inspiration, networking, and leadership development.
- Student Career Fair and Soft skills competition

The Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Committee is responsible for:-
Attracting new Young Engineers in ASHRAE (35 years old and below) who will be actively involved in Society, locally and /or at Society level
Encouraging membership from all segments of industry
Organizing activities focused at attracting and retaining Young Engineers in ASHRAE
Working with the Student Activities Committee to encourage Student transfers
