Committee’s Responsibilities
The Chapter Technology Transfer Committee (CTTC) is responsible for promoting the transfer and practical application of HVAC&R technology, knowledge, standards, and best practices within the ASHRAE Nigeria Chapter.
The Committee serves as a technical knowledge-sharing platform for members and industry stakeholders by facilitating technical presentations, seminars, workshops, training programs, technical tours and other educational activities. It also supports the dissemination of current ASHRAE technologies, standards, research findings, and industry best practices to HVAC&R professionals, students, academics, consultants, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders.
The CTTC will work closely with other Chapter committees to strengthen technical engagement and ensure that ASHRAE knowledge is effectively transferred to the Nigerian HVAC&R community.
Committee’s GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR 2026/2027
The CTTC’s objectives for the 2026/2027 Society Year are to:
- Promote the practical application of ASHRAE knowledge, standards, and best practices within the Nigerian HVAC&R industry.
- Increase access to current technical knowledge and developments in HVAC&R.
- Organize high-quality technical seminars, presentations, workshops, and training programs.
- Provide continuous professional development opportunities for ASHRAE members and HVAC&R practitioners.
- Encourage knowledge exchange between experienced professionals, young engineers, students, academics, consultants, contractors, and manufacturers.
- Promote awareness and understanding of relevant ASHRAE standards, guidelines, technologies, and resources.
- Address current technical challenges affecting the Nigerian HVAC&R industry through knowledge-sharing activities.
- Encourage collaboration between industry and academia in HVAC&R education and technology transfer.
- Support the development of technically competent HVAC&R professionals within Nigeria.
Committee’s Plans Projects
- YEA Project Management Training: Practical training focused on project management, leadership, and project execution.
- YEA Project Management Competition: A practical competition designed to allow young engineers to apply project management and leadership skills.
- Technical Tours: Visits to engineering facilities to give young engineers firsthand exposure to real-world engineering practices, systems, and industry best practices.
- YEA Leadership Series: A series featuring industry leaders and emerging professionals sharing career, leadership, and industry insights.
- YEA Leadership Summit: The grand finale of the Leadership Series, bringing together industry leaders and young professionals for knowledge sharing, inspiration, networking, and leadership development.
- Student Career Fair and Soft skills competition
Coordinating dissemination of technical information in the chapter’s geographical area.
Promoting and administering the chapter’s Technology Awards program and encouraging entries in the regional competitions.
Keeping the chapter informed on technical issues related to HVAC & R.
Assisting the RVC – CTTC to achieve the goals of Society at the chapter level.
Reporting to the RVC for the Chapter Technology Transfer Committee
